On Tuesday 14th November GCSE and S1 Art students travelled to Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, UEA, in Norwich to view ‘The Russian Exhibition’.
The exhibition took the students on a journey through the art and cultural history of Russia. Highlights included a dramatic model of Tatlin’s Tower, one of the most iconic architectural projects to be designed in the Soviet era. There was also on show the naturalistic genius of leading artist-jewellers Faberge, revolutionary abstract art, a wide variety of objects ranging from ceramics to illustrative book cover work, linking the written word to the visual arts.
An enjoyable day was had by all students and staff and the student’s behaviour was impeccable, as usual.
Mr Lloyd.
